Garden of the Border

uji

A stone carving that has a torii (a gateway of a shrine) motif established on the land where was choked with soil and sand left behind by a disaster in 1976. The presence of a boundary line is emphasized by placing a small hill on the sea side and a depression on the mountain side. The torii buried in the ground seems to suggest a close connection between the nature and people's lives.
